I recently bought my second chinchilla and she is on just normal pellets , my first chinchilla is on the actually charlie chinchilla food with pellets and coloured pieces!
I did buy snow..my second chinchilla for a friend to my first and am wanting them to be in the same cage soon hopefully!but the only problem is there food is diffrent so any ideas on what i can do to get them on the same food?

Personally i would try charnwoods - they seem to be the most widely available pellet and every chin ive seen loves them, plus theyre reasonably priced too:) the chin on charlie will need weaning, as will the other, we use half and half for 2 weeks then switch over to 100% new food. Hope this helps.

I read to try half and half so i did that but had to change her back to the normal pellets because she got runny poo , so i wasn't too sure weather to keep her on half and half

I too would go for switching the first chin onto pellets which is best done by gradually reducing the old feed and increasing the new as Rich mentioned.
Good luck and 2welcome.gif to chinwags

sorry we were posting at the same time. It may well be best to take things more slowly maybe a 5th pellets for a week 2/5th the 2nd week etc

Thanks for the welcome smile.gif
also would it matter if i changed the first on to them its just he does eat the pellets from the charlie chinchilla ocassionaly but he prefers the coloured pieces that are with it ... and i don't want him to stop eating

The pellets in the mix wont be the same as a 'complete food pellet', it's probably best if you decide which pellet they are both going to have and switch chin 1 onto them that way she'll only have to change feeds once.

This thread might crossfingers.gif help you
