Hi,
Haven't posted on here for a while but I have 2 male chins who live very happily next door to each other. My youngest chin is a bully and intimidates Rupert, who was a rescue. Charlie is around 13 months old (bully) and Rupert is around 16 months old. Rupert has the sweetest nature and is very loving. My Daughter has recently bought home a male kit who is around 10 weeks old. Long story short, her friends parents have split up and they will not keep the new 'addition' to the family so my daughter said that we would have him. He is currently in our spare chin cage in her bedroom - far away from the resident chins for quaranteen. But my question is when quaranteen is over, can we try and introduce him to Rupert (nicest nature chin) with the hope that someday they will share a cage? I am hoping that as he is still very young it will be easier to introduce to Rupert than an adult chin? The baby seems very confident and gregarious whereas Rupert is quite reserved. Jo |

Congratulations and well done for taking him on. He is very young, poor lad, to have found himself homed then rehomed. I think you could try, I'd take it very slowly, move him into the same room once quarantine is over then side by side and once they are comfortable side by side the stressful letting out together can begin. One thing I would watch out for is if, once they are together (and if Charlie gets to come out so he could wind one or other up), thats when I find sparks can fly (I have to separate one couple for the other chins playtimes) but that's a long way off yet!
