laugh2.gif Because he keeps getting fur rings, I was advised to trim the fur around his bits and pieces to try and provent them and to allow him to heal up. It didn't really work and cause of the problem is unknown - could just be laziness when cleaning. he's got such long fur. So it got trimmed back as much as i could, so there's no white tips as his belly hasn't grown back yet.

How Cute!! I got the lava Swing for Sapphire but she just chewed it, she attempted to jump on it once and missed, flew through the hole and landed in her food bowl. She wasn't impressed! laugh2.gif

I haven't seen these lava ledges or swings in the US sad.gif I bet my chins would love them.

I have leap-n-ledges in their cages. I've heard quite a few people say theirs snaps the wires on the cage but I haven't had that problem. I have a chin who is almost 1 kilo and he jumps on it all the time, my wire of my cages must be heavier gauge than they have over there shrug.gif

You can get them in the US no problems :-)

here's some -

http://www.petdiscounters.com/c589/Lava-Ledge-p7085.html

I'm pretty sure you could get them in the States before we had them over here as Virtual Chinchillas uses them as an item.

I have to say, I wouldn't use the swing personally. I have heard stories of Chins getting legs caught in exposed chains and rings - and that's how the swings fix on - so i wouldn't risk it. they'd probably just chew it anyway - so i might as well use the one that looks safer to me.

They do all of the sorts here -

I think my boys would break the cage with the perches tho and the dots wouldn't last a night....

When the lava ledge gets to a small size, I cut it off the screw and give them the pieces to chew.

I noticed today that it is actually glued with something to the screw. I removed the glue from the ledge, but does anyone know if this glue is safe?

Gorgeous photo J.

A question, I gave up on leap and ledges when they broke the wire, anyone had the same problem with these?

That's interesting. I had a broken wire after putting up an ordinary ledge. I presumed it was a fault in the wire not being welded properly to the corner. I actually put up a lava ledge in front of the wire that had come away to keep it in place because I couldn't find anyone with a welding tool I could borrow. It has been fine. Not come away from the wire it's now attached to and my chinchilla, Poppy chews on it and bounces of it a LOT!
